A classic shirt-dress or shirt featuring a bib, grandad collar and cuffed sleeves. Dress has in-seam pockets. Niven has been designed to be an oversized fit. 

All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless otherwise stated. Skill level: Experienced.

Suggested fabrics: We recommend fabrics with a tight weave to help with sewing the fine detailing; light to medium weight wovens such as cotton poplin, cotton chambray, Indian handlooms, hemp/cotton, or lightweight denim (4-6oz).

You will also need:

• Matching thread

• Seven ½" (1.2 cm) buttons

• ¾ yard (0.5 m) interfacing

Merchant & Mills patterns are now printed within Europe, the pattern paper is 70gsm white (FSC-certified) and is made only 180km away from the printers. Instructions now come in booklet format rather than A3 sheets. The paper is PEFC/01-31-126certified.
